Ava’s 8th Birthday Party

It has been a couple of weeks since Ava turned 8, but it was time for her party. Nancy booked a “Magical Fairy Fest” at Michaels in Newmarket.

Centreville

Time again for our somewhat annual trip to Centreville on Centre Island.  It was nice this year that both Ava and Iona got to go on the rides together.  No need for Mom or Dad to ride the Teacups anymore. Yeah!

It was a perfect day – not too hot, or too cool.  Crowds were very light, so there were hardly any lines to wait in.  We went to Amsterdam Brewhouse for dinner afterwards, where Ava lost her first upper-middle tooth.  She was a bit upset about it.

Swimming Lessons

Today was photo day at swimming swimming lessons.  Parents got to stay, watch the whole lesson and take pictures.  Ava is doing amazing.  Iona is still a bit afraid – these are her first swimming lessons.  The BWG Leisure Centre is a great facility and we are lucky it is so close.

Ontario Science Centre

Since we had a day off, and Iona was going to be at preschool I thought I would take Ava to the Ontario Science Centre for the day.  I can’t remember when I was last there – I don’t have many memories of it.  The good news is that Ava had a blast, and I had a lot of fun as well.  Will definitely go back when Iona is a bit older.

Ava really enjoyed both the tightrope walking and Van de Graaff generator.  She also really liked the fossils and mammoth display.
